Distinct Dodo Birds and Other Darwinian Type Observations

A few weeks ago the family and I were on a weekend outing to SeaWorld. Continuing the theme of stupidity, this particular outing made me scratch my head and wonder how as a society we, human beings have progressed further than using stone tools and why we in the US continue to try to protect people from their own stupidity.

Here are just a couple examples:

Our 5 year old gazing at the puffins (and the plaque clearly says Puffin), we overheard a mother tell her child that the birds were Dodoes! She was then corrected by her only slightly brighter husband who said, “No Honey, dodoes are distinct!” Haven’t we decided there should be a basic educational standard in this country? Some basic science knowledge would be good, potentially even productive. I

s it really correct to protect people from themselves…aren’t we just breeding stupidity and ignorance? Case in point, a middle-aged father encouraging his 5 year old to dive into the pool head first….nothing wrong with that….except…unless the pool is 18 inches deep; I personnal witnessed it.

It makes me wonder….viewing the disproportionate bodies, lack of basic hygene, or dental care, how many of these people have managed find a mate. In listening and talking to these fine specimens of Americana, as the old saying goes…beauty may only be skin deep but ugly goes to the bone. And what’s wrong with going to the dentist once in a while. So your teeth got knocked out in a fist fight…false teeth could be helpful.
